A Taiwan delegation led by Huang Zhangfu, deputy secretary-general of the Third Wednesday Club, known as the richest entrepreneurs club in Taiwan, recently visited Xiamen, Fujian province.
A meeting with the Taiwan entrepreneurs was held by the oganizing committee of the China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) to be held in September this year.
During the meeting, Wang Qiongwen, committee member and director of the Xiamen Convention and Exhibition Bureau, expounded on the city's industrial policies and business climate.
Wang spoke of the development of emerging and modern service industries in the coastal city.
He hopes that a Secretary-general Joint Association of cross-Straits Business Organizations will be established and he confirmed that Xiamen will continue to take advantage of its closeness to Taiwan to offer more investment and cooperation opportunities to enterprises from the Chinese mainland and Taiwan.
Huang for his part is positive about Xiamen's investment climate.
He said that members of his club will strengthen cooperation with the city's MICE industry (meeting, incentive, convention and exhibition) and he hopes that the CIFIT will deepen cross-Straits economic and trade exchanges.
