In recent days, a cold front has descended on Northeast China's Heilongjiang province.

The temperature dropped to -34.6 Celsius at 7 am on Jan 24 in the downtown area of Harbin, Northeast China’s capital city. It’s the second lowest temperature to have occurred in Harbin since 1961.

Despite the extreme weather of recent days, fog appeared at the mouth of Songhua River in Hejiagou of Liqun area due to the difference in water temperatures; giving the area a fairytale appearance.
