Zhuhai (Jinwan) Airport will see 9,200 flights carrying some 1.2 million passengers to 63 Chinese cities during the Spring Festival travel rush starting Feb 1 to March 12 for those visiting families and friends from Chinese New Year's Eve to Lantern Festival (Feb 15-March 2).
Scheduled are 80 additional flights to Xi'an of Shaanxi Province, 80 to Hangzhou of Zhejiang, 74 to Changde of Hunan, 56 to Harbin of Heilongjiang, 42 to Haikou of Hainan, 18 to Changsha of Hunan, 16 to Nanchang of Jiangxi, and 10 to Nanyang of Henan -- 376 special holiday hops.
The trips to Nanyang and Changde are the first ever from Zhuhai Airport. For now, 63 cities are accessible from Zhuhai, compared to 51 at the end of 2017.

According to the airport Marketing Department, travel options have grown along with the facility while ticket prices have fallen. The airport currently operates 32 carriers, including year 2017 newcomers Air Guilin, Grand China Air, and Chongqing, Longjiang, Fuzhou, Hongtu, Qingdao, and Kunming airlines.
Passenger throughput increased by 50 percent last year and exceeded 9.21 million on Dec 29. All told, 69,720 flights took off or landed, a year-on-year increase of 40 percent. The airport is nearing its goal of handling 10 million passengers annually.
