Guangzhou locals can now purchase authentic products from Macao right in their own city at the 2018 Macao-Guangzhou Fine Products Fair, which kicked off at the Poly World Trade Center Expo on Jan 26.
Covering an area of 11,300 square meters, the three-day event contains more than 200 booths and showcases a variety of products from both Macao and Guangzhou, including specialty foods, local clothing, electronic devices, and other daily essentials.

Virtual reality and Pearl River Piano areas were also set up at the exhibition, allowing visitors to try out the latest VR products and smart pianos.
The Macao exhibition section offers snacks, wines, garments, and a variety of other products. Also included is a street reserved exclusively for products from Portuguese-speaking countries.
The exhibition was organized by the Guangzhou Municipal Commission of Commerce and the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute.
Expanding cooperation with Macao is part of Guangzhou's plan to develop a more open economy, according to Chen Yongfang, deputy director of Guangzhou Municipal Commission of Commerce.

"The Guangzhou city government has always stressed the importance of using Macao's investment and trading platforms to strengthen economic ties between the two cities as well as other Portuguese-speaking countries."
Chen said the Guangzhou government will encourage more local companies to engage in international investment, trade fairs, and international cooperative forums which will be held in Macao later this year.
