The grand tulip exhibition to be held in Guangzhou next month in the city's Seed and Breeding Industry Town, will allow locals to feast their eyes and noses on 450,000 tulips across 150 different breeds.
According to organizers, the tulips all originate from the Netherlands, who are the world's main tulip producer. The exhibition will be the largest of its kind in Guangzhou's history. It will not only cover an enormous area of 20,000 square meters but will also feature some of the rarest tulip varieties available such as the Apollo Elite.
The exhibition starts on Feb 8, and will run until March 3. Also on display will be more than 200 types of hyacinths, daffodils and amaryllis. Tickets will also be fairly priced for everyone, with adults at 30 yuan ($4.7), students at 15 yuan and free entry for all children below the height of 1.2 meters, soldiers and seniors older than 60.
Guangzhou Seed and Breeding Industry Town is in Guangzhou's Nansha district and covers an area of 5.5 square kilometers. The area is aptly named as it is home to a seed and breeding industry park, a science and technology innovation park, an entrepreneurial incubation park as well as an urban modern agricultural demonstration zone.
