The 2018 Film and Television Cultural Industry Forum was held in Xiamen, Fujian province on Jan 18 to help Huli district of Xiamen integrate its cultural resources and promote development of its film and television industry.
Experts on intellectual property protection, copyright trading and cultural investment as well as representatives from the district's relevant government agencies and cultural and creative enterprises attended the forum.
Zhu Renzhi, president of Media Asia Group, said that Xiamen is a beautiful coastal city, quite suitable for shooting films and he hopes that the local government will continue to support the development of the film and television industry.
"Xiamen is filled with humanities and art, perfect for cultural industry," said Wang Jun, co-founder of Cathay International Entertainment Services Platform. "Besides Beijing and Shanghai, I'm also bullish about the development of the cultural industry in Xiamen, Hangzhou and Chengdu."
Xu Xiangming, former inspector of the Xiamen Culture, Radio and TV, Press and Publication Bureau, looks forward to the development of Huli district in the industry.
He said that Huli district has attached great importance to it and has cultivated a series of brands and multiple cultural and creative industrial parks.
Fan Yong, head of the Asia Institute of Art and Finance, suggests that if the district looked for suitable resources and carriers, it could establish a Bank of Art to introduce foreign investment, supporting promising young artists and art consumption.
Huli district was the first in Xiamen to formulate a development plan for the cultural creative industry in a systematic way.
The district now is home to 12 cultural and creative industrial parks, two national cultural industry bases and seven provincial cultural industry bases. Four major cultural industries, namely arts and crafts, design, cultural tourism and new media have also taken shape in the district.
