Life science innovation and development forum opens in Tianjin

The 2017 Summit Forum for Innovation and Development in Life Science was held in Tianjin Hi-tech Zone on Dec 12. Experts and academicians from life science fields discussed the development trends of precision medicine, total life cycle health, and the industrialization of life science.

At the forum, the Tianjin Hi-tech Zone released the "Life health valley" project based on stem cell gene technology. In the future it will establish a precise health management system for a total life cycle.

In the Health China 2030 Plan, precision medicine, focused on stem cells, immune cells, and gene detection technology, has been confirmed as a development trend relevant to "Health China".

At the forum, academicians Gao Fu, Wang Fusheng, and Shi Yigong, professors Cheng Tao and Yang Cheng, and doctors Luo Xi and Darry Irwin delivered speeches about antibodies and immunotherapy, cell and stem cell therapy, precise diagnoses and individualized treatment.

In the future, Tianjin Hi-tech Zone will be the top bioengineering and pharmaceutical industry cluster district. It will build a life health valley guided by stem cell gene technology.

The forum was hosted by the administrative committee of Tianjin Hi-tech Zone, the Chinese Society of Biotechnology, the Tianjin Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences.
