Xinjiang is a core point of the Silk Road Economic Belt and an important energy-chemical industry base. In December 2017, Tianjin Port opened the first container train to Urumqi, and in January 2018, it opened a sea-railway combined special train, thus establishing a golden corridor from it to Xinjiang.
Tianjin Port is the nearest shipping center to Xinjiang, and, as of the end of 2017 Tianjin Port Group had developed a business of transporting goods, such as those produced by Cofco Sugar and Zhongtai Chemical, to Xinjiang.
Also, Tianjin Port Group has designed a rail-sea combined logistic system especially for Guangxi Xinfa Group, Guangxi Huayin Aluminium and Foshan Haitian Flavoring & Food, provided a more economical transportation corridor.
This rail-sea combined corridor has created huge economic and social benefit, as well as high-quality development, for both Tianjin and Xinjiang.
In 2018, Tianjin Port Group will explore more markets in Xinjiang and expand business cooperation to promote economic development along the Silk Road Economic Belt.
