Tourism vital to Shenyang’s development, official says

Yi Lianhong, municipal Party secretary of Shenyang, capital of Liaoning province, investigated the city’s tourism industry on Jan 14, and emphasized the need to promote integration, improvements and development in the industry.

Yi visited Shenyang Expo Garden and Qipan Mountain Scenic Area.

As an important engine for the revitalization and development of Shenyang, the growth of the city’s tourism industry requires improvements to the urban functions of the city, and to speed up the construction of an international city, said Yi.

For the next step, Yi claimed that Shenyang should focus on the integration of its tourism industry and other industries such as culture, sports, conventions and exhibitions, commerce, and trade.

Shenyang also needs to introduce additional high-quality, innovative tourism programs to attract visitors, added Yi.
