On Jan 19 the 2018 Lushunkou Strawberry Festival opened in Yangguangqing Orchard in Lushunkou, situated on the southern tip of the Liaodong peninsula in Dalian city.

In launching the event Lushunkou intended to encourage a healthy and in-depth development in the strawberry industry, and improve the quality of ecotourism to meet visitors’needs for leisure.
The local government also offers a platform for orchardmen to expand marketing channels, and promote the transformation and upgrading of local tourism.
In recent years, Lushunkou, which is rich in agricultural resources, has vigorously promoted and applied new technology and equipment in agriculture. It has helped fruit farmers to raise income by training them in seed selection, planting patterns and comprehensive benefits.
Up to now, there are more than 200,000 square meters of strawberries planted in the district and over 20 picking gardens are under construction. Strawberry varieties are both domestic and Japanese.
The festival will last until May. A variety of activities are waiting for visitors, including ecological experience tours of green villages, strawberry picking and marketing exhibitions of featured agricultural products.

The festival is co-hosted by the Management Committee of Dalian Lushunkou National Agricultural Technology Park and the Lushunkou Tourism Board.
