Students gear up for online Spring Festival gala in Sanmenxia

A group of students from the Sanmenxia No 1 Primary School have recently been preparing for Sanmenxia's 2018 online Spring Festival gala, according to a report by ismx.cn on Jan 18.

The dance performance, "In the Field of Hope", arranged by their teachers, will make its debut as an opening act during the online event in celebration of the Chinese lunar New Year.

During a rehearsal, the children were light and nimble in their movements as they jumped and danced around with corn and sunflowers in their hands. Three teachers weaved through the maze of children and corrected their mistakes.

"I was impressed by a dance at last year's online gala for its innovative combination of texts, pictures and videos. We want to give our kids a chance to show their talents, so this year we signed up for the activity, with the support of parents and school leaders", said Jin Nan, one of the teachers, with excitement.

"We started coming up with the moves and rehearsing one month ago, and the final rehearsal is at the end of the month. Keeping up with rehearsals without distracting the students from their studies remains a problem," Jin said.

Despite the difficulty, Jin is still confident that the kids will give an excellent performance at the show.
