The Sino-Russia International Ice Hockey Championship took place in Harbin Sports University on Jan 16, serving as a platform to strengthen sports and culture communications between the two countries.
Li Feng, deputy director of Heilongjiang Provincial Sports Bureau, along with Rabin Mihaile Mihaillovich, representative of the sports bureau of Amurskaya Oblast in Russia, attended the opening ceremony of the championship held on Jan 16.
After fierce competitions, the children ice hockey team of Heilongjiang province failed to its counterpart from Russia with the eventual score being 1:2; and the Heilongjiang’s youth team did not reverse the situation and lost 1:4.
After the competition, the ice hockey players also paid a visit to Harbin Ice and Technology Museum.
Additionally, teams from the two sides will continue to compete at a competition on Jan 17.
Heilongjiang, as a key ice hockey training base in Northeast China, is gradually gaining more experience and skills to compete against the highly-skilled Russian ice hockey teams through competitions of this kind.
