The Memorial Exhibition in memory of the 60th anniversary of issuing RMB coins, a national wide tour, came to Xiamen, Fujian province from Jan 13 to 16.
The exhibition consists of four parts, presenting all kinds of coins China initiated to issue in Dec 1957. The first part introduced four sets of circulated coins, of which the coins worth one cent, two cents and five cents were the earliest issued ones of its kind in China.
The second and third parts displayed 109 kinds of ordinary commemorative coins and more than 2,000 kinds of noble metal commemorative coins which are made of gold, silver, platinum and other precious metals.
The final part showed the byproducts of coins, among which Olympic medals are the shiniest.
An experiencing area was set up at the exhibition, where visitors can make souvenir medals by themselves to learn about the traditional coin making process.
The Memorial Exhibition started its tour in Shanghai since China's National Day in October, 2017, visiting Beijing, Nanjing, Xi'an and other cities in China. Xiamen was their final stop.
