A new farmers' market was put into operation in Hohhot, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on Jan 10.
Covering 2,000 square meters, the market has 108 booths for seafood, vegetables, fruit and other agricultural products. It is the first comprehensive market to be opened in 2018.
The new market introduces modern management systems to record all merchants' deals. Also, customers can keep track of their spending in the market through this system.
The project is part of government efforts to improve people's livelihoods.
According to the plan released as part of the government's city work report, the government is committed to building 40 more new farmers' markets in 2018.
