Deer village, a forest area in Arxan, has recently taken on a new look through developing handicrafts processing, livestock breeding, and ice and snow entertainment services.
The village, situated in Bailang town, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, began to shift from forestry to a variety of industries in 2012 when Arxan implemented the national tree felling ban in State-owned forest zones.
Former lumbermen in the village have sought new ways to earn their living, including working as forest rangers, craftsmen and deer breeders.
