Baotou, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, saw marked growth between January and November 2017, according to documents released by the city’s government. Enterprises above a designated scale in the city saw year-on-year growth of 5.5 percent.
This most recent figure is a 2 percent gain on Inner Mongolia’s average, a fact that helped Baotou place sixth among the autonomous region’s nine prefectural cities and three leagues.
The arrival of the five pillar industries brought year-on-year growth of 6.2 percent. The rare earth industry reported the fastest growth among the five pillars at 11.5 percent, followed by equipment manufacturing at 9.6 percent and electricity at 8.9 percent growth.
