A culinary competition gathered over 300 chefs from China, Russia and Mongolia in Hohhot on Dec 28. The culinary professionals came to show off foods from their respective countries.
“Today I made a dish with mutton and wine; a mix of eastern and western flavors,” said Cheng Xixiang, director of the Culinary Department of Inner Mongolia University of Finance and Economics.
“Food can be a tie to bind the friendships between China, Russia and Mongolia,” added Cheng.
“It’s a pleasure to come to China and attend the cooking competition; I like to communicate with Chinese chefs and they are genuinely friendly to me,” a chef from Russia told the journalist.
