Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, took new measures to boost its tourism by installing robot guides at local scenic areas, local media reported on Jan 5.
The first robot guide, Xiaomei, was installed at Tianhetan Resort and helped visitors by providing information such as ticket prices, history and special features for select scenic areas.

Located in the southeast of Guiyang, Tianhetan is known for its picturesque karst landscapes composed of beautiful waterfalls, bizarre stones, and impressive caves. It attracts countless visitors from inside and outside the country every year.
