Sanmenxia gets ready for heavy snowfall

The sanitation and urban management department in Sanmenxia, Henan province has recently come out to deal with the first bout of snow that swept the city.

Five tons of deicing snow was distributed to the offices of environment and sanitation and at least 600 workers started to work on slippery roads to clear the snow with spades and brooms on Jan 3.

An emergency plan for severe weather was also launched by the urban management department as a yellow alert for snow was issued, all the staff members joined in the work to alleviate the impact on transportation on Jan 4.

Workers have been on stand-by around the clock and officials are also fully available to intensify patrols and cleaning. Teams and supplies are ready in case of any emergency.
