Duo of AI research institutes settle in Nansha district

The artificial intelligence (AI) industry in Guangzhou's Nansha is to get a further boost with iFlytek South China AI Research Institute and Guangzhou Industrial Research Institute of Intelligent Software setting in the district on Jan 2.  

Software company iFlytek's new research institute will possess advantageous data resources in speech recognition and is aimed at luring talents from across the world. The institute will make great contributions in the field of big data application and AI medical image diagnosis and help upgrade the AI industry in Nansha district and lead the way of the district's AI development, said a spokesperson from the company.

Guangzhou Industrial Research Institute of Intelligent Software was launched by Nansha district and Institute of Software Chinese Academy of Sciences. The institute will center on the R&D of key AI technologies and smart software industry platforms as well as promote business layout in the areas of sense recognition, cognitive inference and man-machine interaction. The institute will attract talents, advanced technologies and capital to Nansha district and  build the district into talent highland in intelligent software.
