Recently announced as a new member of the Changsha Economic and Technological Development Zone, the World Class Manufacturing Academy (WCMA) is expected to build the city into a world-class personnel training base.
The new training school is located in the GAC FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles) Changsha factory, and includes three practical training grounds, seven multimedia training classrooms, and a variety of specialty areas.
Combining modern technology and the latest practical training techniques, the school provides courses covering vehicle manufacturing, cost deployment, logistics, after-sale service and energy environment.
"The establishment of WCMA in Changsha marks a milestone in GAC FAC's construction of world class manufacturing (WCM), a concept developed by the Fiat Group in 2006," said Joseph John Ozdowy, GAC FAC general manager.
"The WCMA is expected to integrate superior resources to promote the WCM system and keep improving companies' competitiveness in a bid to develop GAC FAC as a world-class manufacturer."
According to WCMA spokesman Marouane Achguiga, provided courses are customized based on the training demands of the factory. The academy meanwhile offers special training for professional maintenance personnel and engineers, as well as leadership teams.
The academy is not only accessible to GAC FAC employees but also to all staff members in subsidiaries of the Fiat Group and to various suppliers implementing the WCM system.
"Vehicle manufacturers will meet at the academy to exchange ideas, bringing their world-class manufacturing experience to Changsha Economic and Technological Development Zone, and to the whole city as well," Achguiga said.
