An exhibition of history and culture of Yan, an ancient Chinese state during the Zhou Dynasty (1046-256 BC) was held in Tianjin Museum on Dec 26.
Over 150 cultural relics from the Capital Museum, the Hebei Museum, the Cultural Relics Institute of Hebei and four heritage institutions in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei area such as Taibaiding, Bojuge and Taofanghu were showcased in the exhibition.

The exhibition is in four parts, covering the birth of the Yan state, the wars it faced and then its death, over an 800-year period.
The Tianjin Museum will also launch events such as lantern riddles and hiking from January to March to help children understand the history of the Yan state.
