Activities ready for New Year holiday

As the New Year approaches, Ningbo, Zhejiang province readies various cultural activities to present residents with a colorful three-day holiday from Dec 30, 2017 to Jan 1, 2018.
Xiangshan county
During the New Year holiday, Xiangshan Movie and TV Town will stage 20 performances every day to celebrate the festival. Activities include magic shows and folk arts. Tourists can experience the dubbing at a studio as well. Freehand maps and audio services on WeChat will be provided to assist visitors.
Yinzhou district
There will be an exhibition themed on "a trip to polar region" at Ningbo Science Exploration Center in Yinzhou district. Artificial snowfalls, ice fishing and a series of science competitions are expected to enchant yong visitors and teach them knowledge about a rarely-seen world.
From Dec 30, 2017 to Jan 1, 2018, Tiangong Farmstead will launch a variety of fruit and vegetable picking activities.
Beilun district
On the first day of 2018, Beilun will have a climbing exercise at Jiufeng Mountain where participants can climb to the peak and look at the horizon, as a meaningful move to start a new year.
Jiangbei district
The time-honored architecture at Baoguo Temple will embrace a vibrant running event on the morning of Jan 1 to welcome the New Year. Artworks from Pan Tianshou Arts and Design Academy at Ningbo University will be exhibited at the Old Bund.
Fenghua city
During the three-day holiday, Xuedou Mountain scenic area will organize a show featuring customs of the Republic of China (1912-1949). Tourists will be allowed to get close to performers for better experience of history and old culture.
Haishu district
On the morning of Jan 1, Tianyi Pavilion will provide visitors with an opportunity to do needlework. It is customary to make handkerchiefs with special patterns on the first day of the New Year.
At Liangzhu Culture Park, a play telling the touching story of Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai will be staged.
Besides the various activities, there will be discounts on tickets to many scenic areas in Ningbo, such as Xikou, Songlan Mountain and Xiangshan Movie and TV Town.
