Hasuhai Ice and Snow Festival opens in Hohhot

The Fourth Hasuhai Ice and Snow Festival opened in Chilechuan grasslands tourist area in Hohhot on Dec 23, 2017, and will run until Feb 28, 2018, according to a news release by local media organizations.

The tourist area was one of the earliest tourist initiatives in Inner Mongolia autonomous region to boost winter tourism. Factors including a moderate climate, grasslands, lakes, hot spring and other tourism resources have made the grasslands one of the most popular winter tourist destinations in Hohhot.

The festival features ice engraving, folk performances, ice sports activities and bathing in the hot spring, providing tourists with a unique winter experience.
