Guian New Area was awarded as a smart urban area for integrating internet with administrative services by China Information Industry Association on Dec 22.
Located between Guiyang and Anshun city in Guizhou province, set up in 2014, the Guian New Area is a national demonstration area for inland opening-up economy.
The awarding ceremony was held during the Smart City Innovation Conference, which was held in Haikou city, Hainan province, on Dec 22. The conference consists of four sub-forums with different themes covering the integration of internet with administrative services, tourism, agriculture and public health.
Businessmen, government officials and experts from all around the country attended the conference to discuss the innovative practices to make use of the internet.
The award was granted to Guian New Area in recognition of achievements that it has made over the recent years.
To improve the efficiency of administrative services, authority in the area carried out a series of plans on the streamlining and simplifying the administrative procedures.
Equipped with big data technology, Guian has built cloud platforms and information sharing systems to better serve its local residents.
