Harbin’s talents recently won 14 excellent patent awards recognized by the State Intellectual Property Office, setting a new record in Harbin’s patent history.
The nine prizewinners were comprised enterprises, research institutes and universities, including Harbin Institute of Technology, AVIC Harbin Aircraft Industry Group Co, Harbin Boiler Company and the Institute of Petrochemistry Heilongjiang Academy of Science. Six out of the 14 excellent patent awards were won by Harbin Institute of Technology.
The China Patent Award is the highest honor authorized by China’s government in the field of patents. It is an annual award jointly released by the State Intellectual Property Office of China and the World Intellectual Property Organization, and is based on the assessment of experts from the China Patent Award committee. The awards have been held ever year since 1989.
The 19th China Patent Award was presented in Beijing, giving out 20 gold patents awards, five industrial design gold awards, 802 excellent patent awards and 68 excellent industrial design awards.
"After 19 years of precipitation and accumulation, the China Patent Award is becoming a crucial benchmark and guiding star in inspiring innovation, expanding innovative capacity, optimizing patent portfolios and upgrading the quality of self-reliant IPRs," said Li Shunde, a researcher at Law Institute under the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
