High-tech district promotes innovation and entrepreneurship

Approved by the State Council in 1992, Baotou Rare Earth High-Tech Industrial Development Zone is the only one of China’s 53 national high-tech zones dedicated to the rare earth industry, and is the only national-level high-tech zone in Inner Mongolia autonomous region.

The district has been making strides in promoting innovation and entrepreneurship with steps including setting up incubators, and hosting innovation competitions targeting college and university students.

Located in Baotou Rare Earth High-Tech Industrial Development Zone, Baotou Rare Earth Products Exchange is the only e-commerce platform in China dealing in the trading of rare earth products.
