Hohhot to hold first international food fair

Consumers will have the chance to taste and buy traditional delicacies at the First International Food Fair, which will start on Dec 28 in Hohhot, capital of Inner Mongolia autonomous region.

According to authorities, the five-day fair will be held at Inner Mongolia International Convention and Exhibition Center, in an area measuring 26.7 square meters.

Themed “Boost consumption, Alleviate poverty”, it aims to promote local culinary specialties among domestic and international consumers, and to highlight the high quality of local food brands.     

It will offer more than 500 booths for companies to display dairy products, wines and liquors and their manufacturing techniques.

The fair will set up a special booth to promote featured products from Qingshuihe county, in an effort to help the county's poverty alleviation efforts. 

In addition to food tasting, the food fair will include a promotion activity for the city's winter festival, as the organizer is expecting a large number of consumers due to the quality of the foods being offered.
