Xunlong River Eco Art Town is located about 25 minutes' drive away from downtown Changsha.
The site covers 14,000 mu (930 hectare) and offers visitors a chance to experience authentic local culture and customs. It was opened to the public in October 2015 and has been protected as a place of exceptional natural scenery.
The construction of the town reflects the idea of harmony and ecological responsibility in many aspects including eco-friendly building materials, a heat-insulation project, and plenty of green spaces.
The town boasts fresh air, thick bamboo forests, and a great many springs and riverlets. The town is also rich in cultural resources. It has some cultural relics that date all the way back to the Three Kingdoms period (220-280).
Many of the local sites, including the Guandi temple, the Tuodao Stone, and the Yiyun Pavillion, are in honor of Guan Yu, a great general who lived in the Three Kingdoms period and has long stood as an embodiment of loyalty, honor and strength in Chinese legends.
