A delegation of Pingyao government officials visited Shenzhen and Dongguan in Guangdong province on Dec 11, in order to learn about constructing a smart city and information platform for the management of social services.
The delegation visited Huawei, a Chinese telecommunications giant headquartered in Shenzhen, learning of the company’s progress in developing Pingyao into a "smart city", as the two sides reached an agreement to start building a big data center in April 2018.
"The construction of a smart city is aimed at the timely sharing of quality resources, with more people benefiting," said Wu Xiaohua, a top government official of Pingyao county.
"Next, Huawei and Pingyao will further integrate the project with the county’s tourism, education, medical care, industry and agriculture," he added.
Pingyao officials also learned about social management while touring Houjie town, a town famous for grassroots social management in Dongguan, Guangdong province.
