Ningbo in East China's Zhejiang province reached 34 important agreements with a total investment of 96.6 billion yuan ($14.71 billion) at an investment and cooperation conference in Beijing on Dec 20.
It is the third time for Ningbo to promote its investment environment in Beijing starting from 2015. The coastal city in Zhejiang aims to attract State-owned enterprises, high-end manufacturing companies, research institutes, innovative companies and financial agencies to cooperate with local government in projects related to the Belt and Road Initiative and the realization Ningbo's ambitious goals.
Li Guanding, vice mayor of Ningbo introduced the general environment and opportunities for investment and cooperation. Three key development areas including Ningbo Hangzhou Bay New Zone were also highlighted through detailed presentations themed on their resources and development prospects.
Representatives of entrepreneurs like Shen Guojun, chairman of Yintai Group and Song Hailiang, vice president of China Communications Construction Company Ltd delivered speeches at the conference.
Among the 34 successfully signed agreements were four strategic deals and 30 specific deals concerning a variety of sectors like modern information, intelligent manufacturing and logistics.
