Malaysian youth of Chinese descent visit Xiamen

"Once you get back to Malaysia, I hope you can tell your families and friends about your experiences in the camp, and help spread the Chinese culture," Li said to the campers. Li also expressed hopes for them to become the ambassadors of friendship between China and Malaysia.

The winter camp encompassed colorful activities such as lectures of Chinese culture, culture of Southern Fujian, and the spirit of philanthropist Tan Kah Kee, learning traditional Chinese art such as traditional Chinese painting, calligraphy and paper-cutting, and getting a close look at performances of dragon boat races, dragon dances and folk music.

The campers also visited the popular historic and cultural sites in Xiamen and its neighboring areas to get a glimpse of the social customs of Xiamen, and cultural atmosphere.
