Nanshan Scenic Area has been selected as a national 4A-level scenic spot, according to a list released by the Tourism Development Commission of Inner Mongolia autonomous region on Dec 11.
The scenic area, located in Hohhot's Horinger county, was built in 2000. With rich natural resources, the area has developed into a tourism spot focused on Shengle culture from the Northern Wei Dynasty (386-534).
According to the list, two more scenic areas were chosen as national 3A-level scenic spots. They are Inner Mongolia Aowei Mengyuan Cultural Ecotourism Area in Horinger county and Daqingshan Theme Park in Xincheng district.
