Penglai's promotion activity in Shenzhen bears fruits

Penglai, Shandong province held a promotional activity in Shenzhen, Guangdong province on Dec 12, gathering more than 200 experts and scholars involved in the "Thousand Talents Program" and leading enterprises in the Pearl River Delta region.

The activity saw the signing of six projects between enterprises in Shenzhen and Penglai, covering sectors such as culture and tourism, medicine and healthcare, and the chemical industry.

For instance, Sibiono GeneTech, a Shenzhen-based innovator and leader in gene therapy, agreed to invest 2 billion yuan ($300 million) to build a town specializing in genetic healthcare in Penglai. The town will integrate diagnosis and consultation, development and innovation, industry incubation, health management and big data sharing concerning genetic healthcare.

Xu Wei, president of the Sibiono GeneTech, said that their decision to make investment in the project is attributed to the pleasant ecological environment and preferential policies in Penglai.
