China International Food Festival
The China International Food Festival (CIFF) has been held in Yantai, Shandong province, in every other year since 2004.
Sponsors of the CIFF include the China Cuisine Association, China Tourist Hotels Association, Shandong Provincial Tourism Bureau, Shandong Cuisine Association, and Yantai municipal government. The event is expected to enhance Yantai’s status as the hometown of Lu Cuisine, advance the development of the city's tertiary industry, and increase the global exposure of the city.
Yantai International Wine Festival
The Yantai International Wine Festival (YIWF) started in 2007 and is held in Yantai, Shandong province in September every year.
The YIWF is the only International economic trade activity in China's wine industry, and showcases images of wine companies, wine culture and tourism, wine making techniques, equipment and related products. It aims to use Yantai's advantages in grape growing and wine making to strengthen international exchanges and cooperation and develop the city into a world-renowned wine city.
International Fruit/Vegetable/Food Exposition
The International Fruit/Vegetable/Food Exposition has been held in Yantai, Shandong province, in October or November every year since 1999.
The expo showcases fruit and vegetable products and organizes related sci-tech symposiums. It aims to promote international technological exchanges and cooperation in fruit and vegetable sectors and achieves modern, industrialized, and international fruit and vegetable production, processing, and marketing.
Shandong Qixia Apple Art Festival
The Shandong Qixia Apple Art Festival started in 2002 and is held in Qixia, Yantai, Shandong province, in October every year.
During the festival, artists use modern and unique artistic techniques to elaborate their understanding of the original and essential cultural meanings in agriculture. The event is expected to draw the attention of the society to agriculture and look for new sales methods for China's agricultural products.
China (Penglai) "Ode to Peace" International Youth Cultural and Artistic Grand Ceremony
The China (Penglai) "Ode to Peace" International Youth Cultural and Artistic Grand Ceremony has been held annually in August in Penglai, Yantai, Shandong province, from 2000 to 2008, and held every other year since 2009.
The event is hailed as "the largest gathering to call for peace in human history so far" by the United Nations. Thousands of youngsters from all over the world gather in Penglai during the ceremony, singing, dancing, and painting to express their hope for world peace.
China (Haiyang) International Sand Sculpture Art Festival
The China (Haiyang) International Sand Sculpture Art Festival started in 2006 and is held annually in summer in Haiyang, Yantai, Shandong province.
Sand sculpting originated from the United States and has developed into an art form that integrates sculpture, sports, entertainment, painting, and architecture. The sand sculpting art shows the harmonious unification of natural and cultural landscapes, and of natural and artistic beauty.
