Qingdao is a state pilot region for comprehensive fortune management and financial reforms approved by the State Council.

It shoulders the mission to foretaste and explore the development road of fortune management with distinctive Chinese features. It has obtained 60 foretaste policies vested by related state departments, such as the openness expansion of the banking industry, cross-border investment and financing, and the establishment of new-type financial institution. Demonstrative professional wealth management institutions, e.g. the first foreign wealth management company in China, the first international investment fund registered with the characters of Ren Min Bi, which literally means China yuan, are clustering and developing, while the headquarters of 13 bank institutions have set up their private bank in Qingdao.

China Wealth Forum, the grand international wealth management gathering held every mid-June in the city, constantly improves the brand influence of “Wealth Qingdao”. Qingdao ranks itself in the global finance center list with the 46th place in 2016.
