Among the first of nine national advertising industry parks, the Changsha National Advertising Industry Park was authorized by the Ministry of Finance and the State Administration for Industry and Commerce (SAIC) in 2012.
With a planned building area of 800,000 square meters, the total investment for the park reaches 3.5 billion yuan. As of July 2015, 372 enterprises, including Xinhua News Agency, Hunan Satellite TV, CNTV and Tus-Holdings, have opened offices in the park. The registered capital involved reached 1.79 billion yuan ($279 million).
To achieve an industrial output value of 10 billion yuan in 2016, the park introduced and cultivated around 200 advertising ventures. By 2020, it could be leading the central and western regions in advertising and new media.
According to Xu Hongyuan, deputy Party chief of Changsha, the advancement of the advertising industry park is a significant move for Changsha to grow into a modern metropolis, featuring both international qualities and Hunan cultural identities.
