Nansha Economic and Technological Development Zone

Nansha Economic and Technological Development Zone (ETDZ, 广州南沙经济技术开发区) was approved by the State Council on May 12, 1993.

Situated in the southeastern part of Guangzhou in the heart of the Pearl River Delta and in close proximity to Hong Kong and Macao, the Nansha ETDZ enjoys a convenient transportation network and strong market potential. The zone is only 38 nautical miles from Hong Kong and 41 nautical miles from Macao. It is also an easy drive from Nansha to the five international airports of Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Hong Kong and Macao.

Pillar industries:

Nansha ETDZ has seen rapid development in advanced manufacturing industries such as auto, shipbuilding and heavy equipment, as well as modern service industries including shipping logistics, scientific innovation, service outsourcing and leisure tourism. It has focused on promoting the eight industries of port logistics, auto, machinery equipment, shipbuilding, steel, petrochemical, grain logistics and processing and electronic information.

The zone is one of the country's top three shipbuilding bases, a national manufacturing and export base for autos and components, and a nuclear power manufacturing base in the Pearl River Delta region. It has attracted a number of Global Fortune 500 companies.

Investment attraction:

Nansha ETDZ has become one of China's top 50 development zones, with an excellent investment environment. Nansha Port is designated as a national first-class port.

The zone has cooperated with Hong Kong Huo's Group to build an auto ferry, passenger port with unloading capacity of 10,000 tons, and two berths with a capacity of 25,000 tons, which have all resulted in favorable social and economic benefits. The opening of Humen Bridge has further transformed Nansha ETDZ into a hub for import, export and cargo distribution in the Pearl River Delta region.
