Wuxi-Taiwan communication exhibition opens to public

Exhibition displaying 30-years achievements of Wuxi-Taiwan communication was opened in Wuxi Civic Center on Dec 11.

The exhibition is made up of five segments, including memorabilia between Wuxi and Taiwan, economic cooperation, cultural exchange, Taiwan people in Wuxi and investment promotion.

For the past 30 years, Taiwan and Wuxi of east China's Jiangsu province have cooperated together to make remarkable achievements and formed a mutual interaction model benefitting both sides.

A total of 791 Taiwan's investment enterprises have developed in Wuxi since 1988, bringing a total investment of 21.44 billion to Wuxi. Until October of this year, over 2,300 Taiwan-funded projects were signed with Wuxi government.

Taiwan's investments have formed several industry clusters area in Jiangyin, Xishan district and Wuxi Xinwu district, covering electronics, machinery, steel, metal materials, chemicals, textiles, pharmaceuticals, auto parts and service industry.

There are 63 projects with Taiwan's investment of over $ 30 million, including 16 companies with over $100 million investment. Five companies from Taiwan were awarded provincial economy prizes, including Tripod Technology Corporation, Walsin Lihwa Company, MitraStar Website Technology Company, TECO Electric and Machinery Company and Yixing Taiyu Environment Technology Company.

Wuxi government will continue to communicate and cooperation with Taiwan's investment enterprises, aiming to deepen the relationship between Taiwan and Wuxi in various aspects.
