Experts advise on Shenyang’s IC industry at Haizhi Forum

The 2017 Haizhi Forum was held at Shenyang International Software Park on Dec 7.

Sponsored by the government of Hunnan district of Shenyang Science and Technology Association, the forum aimed to explore the development direction of Shenyang’s IC industry and cultivate it as a new pillar industry of the city by providing technology and intelligence support.

Around 100 scholars, experts and business representatives in the field of integrated circuits (IC) attended the forum.

Ye Tianchun, director of the Institute of Microelectronics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (IMECAS), delivered a speech at the forum.

He expressed that the chip is of great importance in a time when the whole world is turning from a stage of digitization to intelligentization. Cultivating the IC industry is good for improving Shenyang’s core competitiveness and boosting the development of its economy.

Based on the industrial foundation of Shenyang National IC Equipment Base and Shenyang National IC Equipment Industry Park, the government of Shenyang has set a goal to establish a complete IC industry chain integrating raw materials production, IC product design and production over the following years.

The government will provide preferential policies to support the development of the IC industry, including mechanism innovation, capital operations and establishment of industrial alliances.
