A bookstore will be officially opened at Ordos Central Hospital later this month, following a two-month soft opening, making it the first bookstore that is run inside a hospital in Inner Mongolia autonomous region.
The bookstore covers an area of 90 square meters, and offers more than 2,000 books. Featuring floor-to-ceiling windows and green plants, the reader-friendly bookstore will still keep a light on for people who come outside opening hours.
The bookstore in the hospital serves as a place for people who come to visit their hospitalized friends or relatives.
Staff members in the hospital have also reacted positively to the new bookstore. Doctor Du, a staff member at the hospital, said, in an interview, that the bookstore gave staff a place to relax while on breaks.
