Shenhua Group

Established in October 1995, Shenhua Group (神华集团) is the largest and most modern coal enterprise in China and the largest coal supplier in the world. 

It is a wholly state-owned enterprise under the direct supervision of the central government. It is a large coal-based energy enterprise integrating coal, electricity, freight, and coal processing, as well as a complete supply chain of production, transportation and trade.

Shenhua is headquartered in Beijing. China Shenhua Energy Co., Ltd, one of its major subsidiaries, was listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in June 2005 and the Shanghai Stock Exchange in October 2007. Shenhua Group ranked 196th among the Fortune Global 500 companies in 2015.

By the end of 2015, Shenhua Group had 21 wholly owned and holding subsidiaries, putting 54 coal mines and power plants into operation. It had a total installed electricity production capacity of 78.51 million kilowatts, shipped 270 million tons by rail and ports. The group also possesses a shipping company with 40 shipping vessels. Its operating revenue amounted to 931.4 billion yuan, with registered employees of 208,000.
