Innovation boosts industrial development

The 2017 Annual Wuxi Maker Convention took place on Dec 12, marking the beginning of the final of the South Jiangsu Global Maker Competition.

More than 100 investors from South Jiangsu and 600 experts in venture capital investment attended the convention.

One famous Chinese VC investment experts and three senior investors were invited to deliver keynote speeches during the convention. They shared their opinions on industrial innovation, angel investment, the driver and global vision for technological innovation.

These speeches explored innovation and its drivers, preparing for the following competition among makers.

With the theme of Innovation, Transformation, and Dynamic, the South Jiangsu Global Maker Competition attracted more than 200 projects from the cities and counties of South Jiangsu.

After rounds of competition, 25 of the 200 projects reached the finals, involving intelligent manufacturing, Business to Business service supply chain, consumption upgrading, new energy, new material, and biotechnology.

Representatives from the 25 projects held road shows during the convention to attract potential investors among the 100 investors from various investment institutions, such as Pegasus Brigade, Green Pine Capital Partners, and Haibang Venture.

Three of the 25 projects were favored by the investors and eventually won top prizes: robot used to accompany Children, the third EGFR inhibitor for treating lung cancer, and waterproof calipers.
