Shenyang-made metro cars exported to Indonesia

The first batch of metro cars manufactured by a Shenyang company started its journey to Jakarta, Indonesia on Dec 6, and is expected to serve as part of a sightseeing metro for the 2018 Jakarta Asian Games.

Shenyang Liyuan Rail Transit Equipment Co won the bid to provide metro cars for Jakarta metro in November.

The whole deal includes 240 metro cars. Three out of the first batch of 24 metro cars have been delivered; and the rest will be delivered over the following four months, according to Wang Min, chairman of Shenyang Liyuan Rail Transit Equipment Co, on Dec 11.

It is the first time Liyuan Rail Transit Equipment Co has manufactured metro cars since its establishment.

Wang said that it took less than one month for his company to manufacture the three metro cars after receiving the order, marking its great production capacity and high efficiency.

The next step for Liyuan Rail Transit Equipment Co is to manufacture the complete vehicles for metro and high-speed trains, Wang added.

Shenyang Liyuan Rail Transit Equipment Co was established in Shenbei New Area of Shenyang on June 5, 2015, with registered capital of 10.2 billion yuan ($1.54 billion).

The firm undertakes multiple businesses, including urban rail transit equipment, rail rolling stock, and motor vehicle manufacturing.

Covering an area of 1.74 million square meters, Liyuan Rail Transit Equipment Co has 30 workshops with 4,126 sets of manufacturing equipment onsite, which operate a total of 12 production lines.
