Wind power industry

Pingtan, a collection of islands off the coast of Fujian, has great potential for wind power generation, and the city government has identified more than 230 square kilometers of space suitable for use in wind power projects.

The city is actively taking advantage of these resources. Currently, the city boasts Changjiangao wind power farm and Qingfeng wind power farm, a total capacity of 148 MV.

There are also several wind power farm under construction in the city, which include the Changjiang'ao offshore wind farm developed by Fujian Datang International New Energy Development Co and a 300 MW offshore wind power farm, developed by State-owned clean energy specialist China General Nuclear Power Group (CGN).

Pingtan expects to launch five offshore power wind projects with a gross investment of up to 2.3 billion yuan.
