Shiguai Industrial Park

Shiguai Industrial Park(石拐产业园), located in the southwestern region of Shiguai district, Baotou, is mainly for the processing of magnesium alloy, new-style metallurgical materials and their applications.

The industrial park was established in 2001. It was approved as a provincial industrial development zone in 2006 and the industrial recycling economic demonstration zone in 2009. In 2014, it expanded its area from 1.84 to 60.4 square kilometers.

The park is composed of one sub-park and three zones, where 88 enterprises have settled in after a total investment of 21.4 billion yuan. It is devoted to be an autonomous-region featuring industrial demonstration zone engaging in productions of silicon magnesium alloy, special steel and comprehensive utilization of coal resources.

It has founded ecological industrial research institute and an electric power demand-side management platform, facilitating the development of new energy, such as natural gas, coal bed methane and photovoltaic. Besides, it initially formed alloy material, special steel and coal resources circulating industries and developed a 100,000 sq m big data innovation industrial park.
