Baotou Xingsheng Economic and Technology Industrial Park (包头兴胜经济开发区), initially named Jiuyuan Agricultural Industrialization Green Park, was founded in 2000 by Jiuyuan district government. The original intention of the park was to develop industries of agricultural and livestock products processing, sightseeing agriculture, biopharmaceutical and organic food deep-processing.
In August 2001, the park planned an area of 232.44 hectares, with the approval of the Ministry of Land and Resources of the People's Republic of China. The industrial park stands along the G210 National Highway in the East, Jianhua Road in the West, Jianshe Road in the South and G110 National Highway in the North. It lies in the downtown Baotou, boasting an advantageous geographical location.
In 2005, the park changed its name into Baotou Xingsheng Economic and Technology Industrial Park to match its new development direction.
In 2009, the park made its development direction more clear. It tried to develop into a park for medium and small-sized enterprises in Inner Mongolia, taking equipment manufacturing, biopharmaceutical, machinery processing and information industry as its pillar industries. And in 2011, the main industries became technology-intensive, labor-intensive, headquarters and warehousing logistics.
In 2014, the park, along with other area in the central part of Xindu district was revitalized, which then helped build Baotou into a livable and ecological city.
