A judicial forum on financial cases was held on Dec 6 in Shanghai with a special focus on financial services spanning the real economy.
Du Wanhua, member of the Supreme People’s Court judicial committee, said that judgment of financial cases should be one of the important focuses of courts around the country.
“Finance is the core competence of a country,” said Du. “The financial system is the fundamental system of economic and social development.”
Preventing and resolving financial risks should be the key in trials, said Du, adding that new demands in financial cases should be well addressed.
Cui Yadong, president of Shanghai High People's Court, introduced the experience of Shanghai.
He said that a series of financial cases are good examples. Improvement and reform in the trial system can better guarantee the construction of Shanghai as a world financial center by 2020.
More than 100 representatives of financial institutions, scholars and experts attended the forum.
