Shanghai Disneyland's seventh themed land, Disney Toy Story Land, is set to open on April 26, 2018, the resort announced Thursday.
Based on Disney and Pixar's Toy Story franchise, the upcoming land will feature three attractions: Slinky Dog Spin, Rex's Racer and Woody's Round-Up.
The 963-acre Shanghai Disneyland, co-invested by The Walt Disney Company and Shanghai Shendi (Group) Co Ltd made its debut in Shanghai on June 16, 2016, as the first Disney resort in the Chinese mainland.
In May, the resort announced total volume of visitors reached 10 million people less than 11 months from the opening date.
The Walt Disney Company also credited its growth of 27 percent in parks and resorts volume over the last fiscal year to a full year of operations at Shanghai Disney Resort in its latest annual report.
The construction of Toy Story Land, as the first post-opening expansion project, "demonstrates the confidence joint venture shareholders have in the growing consumer demand for themed entertainment in China", according to the announcement.
Major construction is close to completion and will be followed by a preparation period including ride testing, adjustment and trial operations.
The park also started recruitment and training for new cast members earlier this year to join the current team of more than 10,000.
