The China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) recently approved the establishment of the Offshore Innovation and Entrepreneurship Base for Overseas Talent, a national entrepreneurship platform, in Ningbo, Zhejiang province.
Ningbo is the sixth city chosen by CAST to accommodate the platform, after Shenzhen, Shanghai, Wuhan, Suzhou and Chengdu. Attracting international professionals and providing incubation space for overseas companies, the base is aimed at spreading global innovation elements and concepts.
Offshore innovation and entrepreneurship means companies can register domestically and operate overseas. People and companies based in other countries can choose to commercialize their research in China via the platform.
Managed by the city's association for science and technology, Ningbo Hi-tech Park is expected to host the base's core and hopes to draw many high-level international projects to settle in the region.
